Where should a young traveler to Egypt with an interest in Cleopatra and the Ptolemaic dynasty visit?

I know there probably isn't much to be seen for Cleopatra, but if there are some museums with related exhibits or archaeological sites open to the public in Alexandria I would LOVE to visit them. I am looking for somewhat off the beaten path ancient sites as well. Although I have a keen interest in the Ptolemy, Im very interested in other ancient sites as well. Pretty much any suggestions will be taken in to account. This will be my first big trip and I have been studying egyptian history on my own for years now. I just don't want to miss out on anything spectacular.
