Man on Fire (Denzel Washington) Plot?

My family and I came in halfway through watching the movie "Man on Fire". My brother has seen the movie multiple times and claims that the audience already knows that *SPOILER* the dad is behind the kidnapping.*Spoiler* but my mother and I think that the audience doesn't find this out til the end. Can anyone tell when it was revealed?
